Ed Sheeran - Drunk Video
This video is a Amplification the performance and narrative relate to the video very well and they use the lyrics and sound to connect to the song, also amplifying the creative interpretation and unusual ideas to get the attention of the audience. There is a direct link to the song through the beat used as every time it comes to the chorus and through out the song it is used which stands out. The narrative code is loose but the shots and settings make the video more interesting and suggestive, it will make people want to watch it again as it is different as it uses a talking cat and shows the feeling of losing someone which sets the mood to develop the narrative concept, this is set by the bass of the drums being used in the video. The camera directly focuses on Ed and the girl he is singing about using close ups and shots of eyes but the music video doesn't use any lip sync which works well with the lyrics and the way they've done the video, using a cat that can talk to him as his drunk which links to the title of the song. The video used many close ups of the alcohol and facial expressions and extreme close ups on the cat when it talks also using long shots to see the whole scene and what the lyrics are explaining in the scene. Hand held is the most used movement in the video changing from character to character getting the mood into the shot. The editing is a montage which goes from shot to shot quickly but describes everything happening. It also uses the beat and rhythm of the track to provide the movement being used which shows the narrative of the video. The lighting is dark and it only light when showing the girl his singing about which suggests the moods his going through. The Mise-en-scene is a love concept but broken hearted.
