When looking at other artists their clothing is bright and fancy something that I couldn't get my hands on because of money and also my friends don't own that kind of clothing, so I did the best I could with the clothing I had. I went for simple looking clothing so it wasn't to messy and I made sure it was colour co-ordinated so it look fashionable. I also tried to get them in bright colour clothing so it would be eye catching when it came to the final music video and on the digipack and advert.

Clothing
I wanted a range of different clothes to use for each band member to get the best effect for the music video, because im using many short shots in my video it means I wont get all of one persons shot done in one day. When it comes to clothing I looked through each other the girls wardrobes and decided what fits best for the style im going for. I want bright bold colours used and stylish clothing that fits in with the fashion that's being sold on the hight streets today. Each band member have their own style which best shows their personality. Some clothes worked better than others but in the end I was pleased with every clothing piece I picked out and thought it looked good when I got the girls together for filming and photographs for my digipack and advert. I used leather jackets a lot when it came to recording because I know their a big thing in fashion at the moment and made them look smart as well as fashionable. I also used leggings and jeans as these are the two main trousers people wear as leggings are comfortable and easy to move in and jeans are fashionable and make people feel secure when wearing them as they don't show the body they just give shape instead. I picked flat shoes as there comfortable and these slipper shoes/pumps as really in at the moment so im trying to keep up with the fashion of today.

Hair Styling
Im wanting to use different hair style on each girl to make them stand out as individuals and will make it easy for the veiwers to understand whos, who. This will be shown throughout the music video and also used on the digipack and advert so it all relates to each other and is easy to see for the target market im going for. On the digipack and advert I have chosen to make Beckys hair straight as her hair is short and if I had curled it or made it wavey it would of lost the lenght to her hair and I want it to have length and fit well around her face which it does. I have decided to do Alexs hair wavey as her hair is long which gives it some movement in it and style. Finally Beth I have left her hair natural as its straight and her hair has a long lenght to it and her fringe goes around her face which covers her face a little but her facial expressions stand out more like this. When it comes to the music video it changes with Beths hair style because she has a nice lenght she can do different styles with it so in some shots her hair is straight and others a wavey to give it some movement and hight to her hair as her hair is quite thin. Alex has her hair wavey like in the photographs for the digipack and advert as I thought it look the best on her as we did try out other styles. On a few shots I clipped her fringe back so you get a better shot of her facial expressions which worked very well. Becky's hair stand straight because of the reasons I explained before but in a few shots I also clipped her fringe back as I could get a clearer shot of her face for close ups and miming shots so the facial expression came through well. These are the sort of looks im trying to go for when it comes to the hair styles I want the band members to have, but the bottom style will brushed through to make it look more natural and give less waves to it.

Ideas For Album Cover
Just to get an idea of what I might want my album cover to look like I have done a few quick mock ups on Photoshop, using photos from the internet and adding my band name to the cover to attempt to create something similar to the album artwork I want to use. These are two of my favourite pictures that would best fit the sort of genre and look im going for on my album cover and the type of font I might use, which allows me to see what font would work best with the style im going for.
I firstly crearted a quick mock up taking inspiration from Demi Lovato's album cover which I saw on the internet and thought it would fit the colour scheme I would like to use on my album cover as it best fits the genre im doing and also represents the girls in the band. Then I picked the type of font I liked and put it on the top of the photograph quite big to get the target markets attention. Iv positioned it at the top because this is one of the places I am thinking of putting my heading and this allows me to see what it might look like. I think the font and picture work well together but looks a bit plain.
Secondly, I took another photograph I thought could fit the style im going for. This photograph is different as there laying on the floor with the camera above them which is a good idea for a cover but could be hard to do as i dont have the equipment to do this shot. I like how close the girls are which is a big part of my video as I want the audience to connect to the girls. I positioned the bands name differently this time to see what else I could do with it to make it stand out more and I think this lay out works well but I might have to keep moving it around untill I find the perfect position. I also changed the font style as this was my second favourite and I think it works well with the photograph.

Fonts
I have chosen this font because it uses bubble lettering which I find interesting and it stands out and look very girly which would fit in with the genre im doing and the type of girls im using. I also like the shaping of the letters as there different and I like the love heart dot for the 'I' as it doesn't show up on other album covers in this genre so it would make my band stand out more. Im not to keen on having no colour in the title as I want it to be bold and bright so this might not work for my design.
I have also chosen this font that is the same as the one above just filled in, in black because it stands out more compared to the other one to me and I like the style of the letters they would fit the genre im doing as well as the band style im going for. The shape of the letters are different and I particularly like the love heart dot for the 'I' as it connects to the personalities of the girls im using for my girl band and the relationship they have. i would change the colour of the letters though to a bright colour to fit with the Pop genre.
I chose this font because I like how the 'T' and the 'L' stand out as there is capital letters and the rest are in lower case which shows the bands name as being important. Also the bold black letters get your attention and would stand out to the target market im going for. The shaping of the letters is eye catching and are positioned neatly which I like when it comes to writing. This font could be used for the album title and magazine advert.
I chose this font because I thought it was a bit different to the others I had picked and I wanted to see if this could fit in with the genre and girls I have chosen for my band but I don't think it will work as it reminds me of comic book writing and it wont fit in with the style im doing for my band. I do like how they make each letter a different size which makes the font stand out but its very kiddy I think.
I chose this font as I have used it before and I thought it would have a good effect of the target market im going for. I like how its all one size and lines up together making it look neat and not messy like the one above. I also like the bubble style look it has to it, this gives it a girly feel and relates to the band members personalities which is vital when it comes to showing who they are on album covers and magazine adverts.
I chose this font as its very girly because of the style of the lettering and the lover heart used for the dot on the 'I' this would look good on my cover and would best describe the band. I like the 'G' as its different to any of the other fonts and fits best with the style and genre im using for my band. This is one of the fonts I am considering to use when it comes to my final design.
I chose this font randomly as it reminds me of comic books and the kind of style that would be thought when you say the word lazer lights but I don't think it will fit the genre im using and the band members im using to as it doesn't best fit their look and personalities, it wouldn't look right on the front of their album cover or magazine advert.

Album Cover Ideas

This is one of my favourite artists and I came across this album cover of hers when I was looking up the sorts of pictures she uses for her albums and this one stood out to me the most as its a bright coloured picture that relates to the sort of style im wanting to use for my front cover. The reds, pinks and yellows all blend together and give a girly feel to the picture. The lettering on this is interesting and gets my attention as it uses different colours through each letter and changes from bold to regular which has gave me more of an idea on the type of font I want to use on my cover as I want it to be bold and big so it gets the target audiences attention. I will be using three girls on my front cover compared to one on here but it will have the same style and look to it. The layout will similiar with the smaller person in the middle and the other two and the side of her showing how close they are.
I picked this simple picture as it gives a dark side to the type of album cover and music video I want to make but I like the simplicity I could make of the cover and it could still get the attention of the audience. White and black pictures interest me to as they give a different meaning to a picture and reminds me of the oldern days when they used white and black pictures all the time and it gets the shot better of how people feel and the location its taken. The brightness of the picture gets the main object of the photgraph which would be he girls in my band and this could work very well. This is another idea of mine that im not completely certain on but think it could work and should be a possible though.

Digipack Research
I have selected these album covers above from the post iv made before and other pictures that interest me that I personally think best show a similiar style and over all feel that I would like to use for my digipack and magazine advert. The similarities between the covers I have chosen are the colours used, the simplistic look and style of photograph and layout used for the covers. The fray album does not include the artist on the front cover which doesnt fit in with the other albums iv used but the lighting used and fuzzy look to the people around the album cover fits the type of style im going for when it comes to my front cover. The simple single shots of each band member or soul artist thats shown on the front covers are kept to the genre and the artists create the image they want their audience to see. The fonts used are simple and bold which stand out on top of the photographs and also contrast with the colours used. The two top album covers are very similiar by using fuzzy colours to make the back ground blend together but the top album shows a more edited colour which uses mainly yellows and browns that mix together well. The fray cover is edited to be blurred around the lights showing the effect of what the bright lights do to the surroundings and relates to the style of the bands music video that links to the package.
The little mix album cover shows the genre of the band straight away when you look at it which is shown by the colours used as they are bright and they give a bold look to the band members as its shown as their background. Each picture of the band is taken individualy and put onto the album one by one which gives a good effect allowing them as much space to do what they want that best shows their personalities. I like the colours used and the style of the album cover as its divided into four, this could help me towards the design I could do for my cover.

Band Websites
http://www.little-mix.com/gb/home
This is where my inspiration for the music I chose came from, as this is the band who made the song "wing". I like the colours used as there bright and fun which stands out to me and the audience im going for. I also like the layout of the page as it shows the band members together on main page and give individual information about each member which I thinks important.
http://hadouken.com/
This website is not the type of genre ill be using but its a band I enjoy and I like the master head they use as it stands out and gets your attention. Also I like the colours used as there faded and the way it shows pictures from the band and videos which gets the audience interested. I don't like how you have to scroll down and the lay out isn't the best.
http://www.rihannanow.com/
I like this website page as when you first click onto it, it doesn't take you straight to the website page as it allows you to see what the website contains of first. I love the layout of the page and the way you can scroll through different pictures and information, as it makes it fun to look at. This would be a useful to me as its the type of thing I want but would use brighter colours. It best portrays the singer.
http://www.adamofficial.com/uk
This website is very plain and doesn't fit my genre but it uses the scrolling technique like on Rihanna's web page which always gets my attention. By looking at this page it makes me know I want a fun and more busier band page allowing more pictures of the band members.
http://www.panicatthedisco.com/
I like the font style being used for the text on the page but its a simple page and doesn't have much of the band on it which I want to include in mine and make the digipack more fun and interesting to get the audience im going for attention. This is also not the genre style im using for my music video.
http://www.youmeatsix.co.uk/
This band are not the genre of music im going for but I like the layout on the page as its simple and uses a scroll technique too which shows the audience all the information. This makes the web page easy to use and get around as your not flicking from one page to another.

Genre Of Video
The music video I have choosen is Little Mix, Wings. The genre of this video is pop and it is a girl band. They use four girls with all the same sort of style but all have their individual looks that gets the audiences attention.
The music video doesnt link back to the lyrics though out the performance as the video is quite straight forward. The video mainly uses the green sreens for effects on the background to make it look more effective and abstract. This video illustrates the sound as its the most important part of the video as they edit the video to the beat and rhythm of song. They us unusual ideas to creartive the video and surrealistic elements so the music video doesnt look like any other video thats been made. The video links to the genre of the song by the layout and editing of the video and also the clothes they wear, as each girl has a different style that relates to their personalities. This video is quite straight forward but they use a lot of animation and they would of filmed in the stuido as it isnt a relistic video which would normal be filmed outside. The video repeats a lot of the same clips which are really shot but it uses bright eye cathcing colours. In this video they set the over all mood of the song with the beat of the drums as the camera shots are edited to each beat at the begining of the song and carries on. All the girls work together to get the rhythm of the song and dance to the beat at the same time which makes the video interesting and effective to get the audience. In the performance of the video they use a lot of individual close ups of lip-sync and separate shots on their own to get more of a detailed shot where they can move around and do what they want which comes across as a fun dancing music video. They repeat shots of the girls singing and shots of them being together which draws your attention and they use over head camera shots (cran) which gets the whole dance crew in one shot which makes it look fun and interesting. The music video starts with mid shots of all of the girls in different settings, then it uses close ups of each of the girls when they have their solos and zooms into the shot away from the rest then goes to a mid shot allowing you to see the background. They use pan shots and crane shots when showing the dancing part and the four girls together whilst they move around and the walking towards the camera which is a dolly movement this gets everything they do into one shot. It uses a montage editing jumping from singer to singer and location to location to get each setting into the video and they also dance to the beat by marching. They use artifical lighting when using close ups on the singers and extreme lighting when doing long shots so they can focus on the girls. The over all Mise-ene-scene uses bright colours which describes their personalities and styles. They also mainly do their own thing in the video and just shows them having fun.
