Album Covers 4
These album covers are so bright and colourful they describe straight off the type of music being played on the album and the kind of artist the music is coming from, for example, Mika his album cover is very bright and playful which connects to his style of music it is all up beat and child like, this is good as it reaches out to a wider audience. I also like the Kanye West album cover as its very simple and gets my attentions as it has a heart and makes me wonder what his albums all about, which makes you want to buy it and find out.

Album Cover 3
These album covers are hip hop style and I like how they use centre colours which blend together and make the main feature like someone's face stand out. I like the baby cover as it works really well with the title of the album 'never mind', as it shows a baby in water trying to get money which is a very unlikely thing to happen. I love how the blue colours used for the water really stands out behind the baby and looks so realistic. I also like how the titles of the artists are in the corner of the page or not to big so the main focus is the picture.

Album Covers 2
These album covers as more up to date which is the kind of artists that are out now. I like the close up shot of just using the artists head in the shot as its simple and it focuses more on the artist them self than looking at anything in the background. The colours used are varied in each cover but they all bend together. I like T.I album cover as it uses his face on the cover but instead of a straight forward picture, they use different parts of materials to make his face come through onto the page. This is very clever and will get the attention of the audience. The covers used on this page also describes the type of album the artist is going for by the lay out of the cover and the colours used, as Rihanna uses black and white which shows darkness and the way she is shown shows the same genre. This connects to her music in this album.

Album Covers
These album covers are history of the old bands and singers that began to create music in the 60's to 80's. I like the look of the Beatles abbey road shot they used for their album cover, as it is very simple but it has been noticed by many other artists and the public which brings them more fans. The colour used is very simple and plain but it gets your attention, also where its set in London gives the album more of an appeal to a wider range of audience. It isn't a staged picture its just them walking across and zebra crossing and taking a picture whilst they walk which is a easy shot to get. I also like the other album covers on here as they are the start of what the artists in the 60's and 70's looked like and you can see the difference. Artists today still use some of these album ideas but do them in a slightly different way, as it is history.

Story Boards For Busted
This is a story board of the music video 'what I go to school for' by busted. We did this task so we could see what each shot looks like and how they are put together to get the best effect. We did a re-enactment of the busted music video by using members of are class to be the characters and having a director so we could get a feel of how we would do are own music video's when it came to it. We learn how to do different shots and angles also the period of time we have to fit in the whole movement. There is also dialogue through out the video so we had to do some lip syncing for the three main characters. The video was only 1:14 long as we cut the actual music video in half just to get a feel on how many different shots and angles we would have to use in the amount of time we have to make are video, as you don't want to use the same shots over and over again as this will make the audience less interested.
In the first story board box shown on this page, it shows a picture of two tables in a room with someone's feet watching past. This shot uses a low angle which doesn't give to much away in the first second as its the opening of the video. The camera then changes to a extreme close up of a women writing on a chock board which is 2 seconds long and is a continues shot of the beginning of the video. The camera then focuses on the women's eyes which is a extreme close up shot this is still continuing the intro to the video and is a second long. In the first 3 shots it only uses one person and uses no dialogue. Then the camera changes to a mid shot and focuses on a boy at a desk which begins the song as he starts to sing. This shot is 2 seconds long and the dialogue is "oh, yeah yeah".
After the dialogue the scene changes and there's a shot of the women's hand on a light switch which is shown as an extreme close up and lasts for a second. Then the camera changes to a mid shot of a dark lighted room with a projector on giving out a small amount of light. This shot is 2 seconds long. The camera then adjusts to the boy again who was in the fourth shot, he is shown in a mid shot sitting at a desk behind a girl in dark lighting which has carried on from the last shot and it lasts a second. The camera then stays at a mid shot and shows you what the students can see which stays on screen for a second. Then the camera goes to a extreme close up on the women's eyes again but with a dark lighting which is carried through all these shots. There is no dialogue in this part of the story board. Then the camera focuses back on to the boy who's sitting at a desk with low lighting like the story boards before. They use a mid shot so you can see his body language as he sings. The clip lasts for 3 seconds and the dialogue is "her voice is echoed in my mind I count the days till she is mine". Then the camera goes to a long shot from the back of the class and uses the camera movement panning to get the whole class into the shot. The lighting is still seen to be dark and the clip lasts 2 seconds long. The camera then changes to a mid shot and the camera slowly moves down to see the expression on the boys face when the girls walk past. The clip lasts 3 seconds. After the camera focuses back to the documentary the class is watching and the boy starts to sing again. The clip lasts a second and the dialogue is "cant tell me friends cause...". The dialogue then carries on in the next shot of the boy lip syncing to the camera in a mid shot saying "they will laugh I love a member of the staff". This clip lasts 4 seconds.
The camera then moves from a mid shot on the boy to a mid shot on the girl that turns around and the camera slowly zooms in on her face. The clip lasts a second. Then the camera shows you what the girl is looking at by using a mid shot on the boy behind her. This clip lasts a second. The camera then changes views to a long shot on another member of the band and see's him pushing past students in his class which goes with the dialogue being song "I fight my way to front of class to get the best seat of her ass". The camera slowly zooms in on him whilst he gets closer, the clip lasts 7 seconds. The camera then does an extreme close up on the women who is there teacher. This clip lasts a second. Then the camera goes to a second mid shot of one of the boys from the band and then changes to the other boy from the band using a mid shot and only being a second long. This shows there body language towards the teacher.
The camera then goes back to the boy who pushed through the class staying using a mid shot so you can see what he does when he sings the dialogue "I drop a pencil on the floor", then the camera instantly follows the pencil to the flow using a mid shot still which takes up 3 seconds whilst he sings "she bends down". As the dialogue continues "and shows me more" the camera follows the lady to the floor who then picks up the pencil, this shot is 2 seconds long. The camera then stays at a mid shot and follows the lady when she stands up and the chorus of the song kicks in "that's what I go to...". The clip is 3 seconds long. The scene then changes to an out side set where the three lads are playing their guitars and all sing "school for" together, the camera stays at a mid shot and the clip lasts for 2 seconds.
Then the camera zooms in on one of the band members using a mid shot whilst he sings "I know that is a...". This clips lasts a second. Then the camera switches to another member of the band still using a mid shot of him singing " real bore". The clip is a second long. The camera then goes to the last member of the band continuing to use a mid shot of him singing " you can call me crazy". This clip lasts a second. Then the scene changes back into the class room focusing on the teacher giving one of the band members there work back using a mid shot and having the dialogue in the background "I know that she craves me". This clip is 3 seconds long. After the camera goes back to the other scene out side and shows all the members of the band in a mid shot playing their guitars with students behind them whilst they sing "that's what I go to school for and I know its...". This clip is 3 seconds long. Then the camera focuses on one of the girl students in the background dancing still using a mid shot whilst the band are still singing in the background "real bore". This clip lasts as second long.
The camera then changes back into the class room and shows one of the band members staring at the teacher whilst she's trying to help him by using a mid shot and having the dialogue in the background "girlfriends iv had plenty". The clip is 2 seconds long. The camera then goes back outside and focuses on one of the band members using a mid shot whilst he sings "none like Miss Mackenzie". This clip is 2 seconds long. The camera then changes to a long shot showing the whole of the band together and the students behind them as they sing "that's what I go to school for". This is 3 seconds long. The camera then goes inside the class room using a long shot. This clip lasts 2 seconds. The camera then goes to one of the members of the band using a mid shot of him playing his guitar and bringing it up into the camera. This clip is a second long.
Then the camera stays at a mid shot and shows the whole band and one of the members coming close singing "that's what I go to school f...". This clip lasts 2 seconds. The final shot is a mid shot of the teacher walking past one of the band members in class and stroking his arm and in the background the dialogue is playing "for". This clip lasts 3 seconds. I have used a colour coding box at the bottom of the last page to show what characters in each shot so it makes it easier to film the music video.

Story Boards (first piece of work)
This story board is about a student walking to an interview they have. Showing different angles of shots that link to one another, getting the best lighting and angles of the person in the shot. In the video it shows a student talking to their teacher about some work their stuck on which uses dialogue to explain the reason for the video being made. We did this video so we could get used to recording different people and being able to set up a scene and see how we would edit the shots together, as this is a very short video.
In the first story board box shown on this page, it shows a person walking towards a door using a mid shot so you get to see the persons face and top half of their body which is important so we can see the background as well. It is filmed for 2 seconds and has no dialogue. The camera then changes to a long shot show the person approaching the door, so now you can see where they are heading. This shot is filmed in 4 seconds and has no dialogue. After the camera changes to a close up showing the person approaching close to the door and leaning towards it to open. This clip is done in 2 seconds and has no dialogue. The fourth clip then shows an action match shot where it goes from one shot to another showing the person opening the door to when they walk in and close the door behind them. This is filmed in 4 seconds and has no dialogue.
In the firth story board it shows the camera as over the shoulder shot show you get the view of the student looking at the teacher sitting in front of them. This clip is shot for 2 seconds and has no dialogue. Then the camera changes to long shot showing the student and teacher sitting at a table looking at each other talking. The dialogue used in this clip is the teacher asking the student to "take a seat, what can I do for you". This clip is shot for 2 seconds. After the camera goes to the teacher and students eyes and does a eye-line match shot showing them talking to each other and the student saying "I need a mock paper please". This is shot for 2 seconds. The final camera shot is a close up of the students face which is happy and is shot for 2 seconds. There were 4 people in my group working together. One recording, two playing the part in the recoding being the actors/actress and the director. We then went onto the computers and edited all the clips together with the sound, making our first video. This was just a feel for what the software would be like that we would use next year when making are music video's.
